Hello rasauul, what other names have you been known by in the Freelancer Community?

No other names

What part of the world do you live in?

I'm from Copenhagen in Denmark (scandinavia, europe)

How old are you?

36 years old and still going wrong...

How many years have you played Freelancer?

I bought the game about 1 year after the release, played it in singleplayer exploring the game allmost completely.
After finishing it i threw it away, pretty soon after that i started playing W.O.W. and in no time at all i was a wow-a-holic.
After playing wow for about 3 years i realized i had to "kick the habit" it was taking up way too much of my time and energy.

I changed back from MMORG to singleplayer games and soon i had bought the old game again and was re-exploring Freelancer,
soon i found myself on monkey world and couldnt stop wondering why the base there seemed so "half finished",
googling FL i stumbled upon the "Shrouded Worlds" mod, it completely renewed the game for me!

Playing W.O.W. id had a lot of fun writing macros in the in-game macro system and the idea of trying to mod something sprung to mind.
It was a great self challenge! like one big IQ test, especially when i started trying to modify the Storyline.

it was one big brainstorm i remember my girlfriend laughing at me cause i was talkin to myself and typing like mad,
she was happy though that i switched my WOW addiction for a modding addiction,
when you're modding your mind is working overtime to solve problems,
most of the time when your playing WOW you're in a zombie like state.

Have you released or helped to build a mod? Please describe it.

Yes, i'm the maker/compiler of "Trent the Monkey King MISSION 14 mod" which adds an extra mission, plus a host of other things
You can get it here : ... ion-14-Mod

Have you written a tutorial? Please tell us about it.

I have written a tutorial on Storylining, its called "Rasauul's storyline Bible" and its available on this website in the tutorials section.
I've done a few other tutes

Have you created any tools for the community to use? What does it do?

No, no tools, i wouldnt know how.............SOMEONE TELL ME HOW! Mod monster down boy!

Have you ever been an Admin of a mod community or website?

What do you find most interesting about Freelancer?

Singleplayer storyline, dogfighting gameplay/mechanics, the universe look/feel/vibe

What groups / clans have you been affiliated with?

List your accomplishments and projects you have participated in.

Really only my own mod

List any awards, offices or positions you have held.

Doggy? lol, sorry, if you mean what i do in RL then the answer is:
I have my own small construction company and im a "weekend musician"

How has the Freelancer scene changed since you started playing?

Lancers Reactor goin down changed some, i hope more people find theyre way here, it seems this is where its at now.

Are you currently active on any servers?

Not really

What mod really stands out in your mind?

My own mod Smile
Tekagis looks really good i really like the npcs spawning at very high distances it looks very real.
Shrouded Worlds again looks really cool especially the ships, loved the Katana, that mod has a great feel.
Discovery is also impressive and seems really friendly and fun, good sense of humor.

What will be your role in Freelancer in the coming years?

Not big, i want to try to learn programming C++ and it is a hobby for me, RL will keep me very busy next year with the music and company.

Describe in detail any memorable Freelancer experiences.

Biggest for me was building my own mod, although it is frustrating its also the best fun.....a bit like women really Smile

Why do you spend countless hours building mods, making tools, answering questions or writing tutorials?

I always been crazy about computer games since trying my first arcade machine when i was a kid ,
creating stuff is a great feeling and sharing it and the experience seems natural

What other games do you regularly play?

I like "Evil Genius" and "Master of Orion 3" or is it 2?

Do you have any hobbies other than games?

Is there anything new coming up in the future for you?

I hope so!

How do you view the future of Freelancer?

I think in the future the community will shrink,
"jumpgate Evolutions" looks like the new big space sim and MMORG and it will slowly swallow the FL communities.
(Space WOW is coming!)

Can you recommend any others in the community for an interview?

hmmm, Lancer solurus, louva-deus and flybyu, but you probably allready got interviews by those guys.

Are there any last things you would like to add?

Yes if anyone knows how to make dockable orbiting planets then please post a tute!

Thank you for the interview! It is the contribution of folks like you that help to keep the game and the community alive!

it was fun, thank you.

Best Regards
